Dear comrades,
As you know, Colombia is living through an emergency. Material solidarity of people-to-people is urgent. Solidarity is the tenderness among peoples.
A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, killing more than 500 people, hundreds injured, thousands of families displaced and many people are yet to be found under the rubble. This is happening under a new government of the extreme right that is actively and publicly trying to destroy any popular power and fight for dignity.
Comrades from Colombia are organizing a people’s response to this emergency, organizing solidarity aid those in most need and mobilizing support to empower the political work for a dignified life and to reconstruct the spaces of popular power in the areas hit by the earthquake.
Material solidarity means mutual aid between peoples. Internationally, we can also support and show that the lives of the peoples in Chocó and on the Pacific coast matter and that we as people do not abandon each other in times of emergency.
At an international level, you can, among other things, make a transfer to comrades from Congreso de los Pueblos who have been building popular power to fight against imperialism and capitalism and to protect life and dignity. They are now supporting popular responses.
